İpek Çeken was born in 1966 in Ankara. She completed secondary and high school at TED Ankara College and graduated in 1984. She graduated with distinction from Hacettepe University State Conservatory and was awarded İhsan Doğramacı Award of Excellence.
During her school years she also sang in TRT Ankara Children’s Choir and TRT Ankara Youth Choir.
In addition to acting she worked in administrative posts in Ankara State Theatre as General Director and Deputy Director.
She performed in various TV series, commercials, and educational and entertainment programs both as an actor and narrator.
In March 2005, she was invited to the United States within the scope of Cultural Exchange Program of USA and participated festivals and seminars while exchanging opinion and experience with producers and actors.
She played the part “Nevzat” in one of the famous TV series; Ferhunde Hanımlar between the years 1993 and 1999, which lasted for 1350 episodes. The cast included Beyhan Saran, Baykal Saran, Güven Hokna, Melek Baykal, Şahap Sayılgan, Tamer Karadağlı, Ayşe Nil Şamlıoğlu, Meral Niron, and Hatice Aslan.
She had the leading part in TV series “Teyzemin Nesi Var?“ in 2002, performed “Zilli Zarife” in Keşanlı Ali Destanı in 2012, and worked in TV series “Unutma Beni” between 2013-2016.
She is married to Prof. Dr. Zülküf Önal and has a daughter.
